On the occasion of the creation of the new departmental technical agency of Olonzac (34), the Hérault Department wanted to use geothermal energy for the building’s air-conditioning and heating needs. The construction of 400 m² of pavement, integrating the Power Road© process, has been entrusted to the Eurovia teams (Béziers/Narbonne sector) to improve the efficiency of the geothermal system designed to meet building heating needs.
Power Road® technology can be integrated into the energy systems around the road infrastructure to meet a local need. In solar thermal collector mode, the thermal energy captured by Power Road® in summer can be stored in the ground; this renewable energy source can then power buildings and infrastructure along the road to heat them in winter. There are many potential uses: heating residential or tertiary buildings, industrial sites, swimming pools, domestic hot water production.
